January 2019: CCI Faculty/ Staff Changes

2019 Faculty Staff ChangesCCI Associate Dean for Academic Programs Michael Palenchar is returning to his position as an associate professor in the School of Advertising and Public Relations effective February 1st.  “We greatly appreciate Michael’s  work to advance our graduate and undergraduate programs during his time as associate dean and wish him all the best as he returns to the faculty,”said CCI Dean Mike Wirth. An internal search will be held during Spring 2019 for a new Associate Dean for Academic Programs who will take over the position this summer.
CCI Associate Dean for Research and Chancellor’s Professor Suzie Allard is serving as Interim Associate Dean for Academic Programs, and SIS Chancellor’s Professor Carol Tenopir is serving as CCI Interim Associate Dean for Research during Spring 2019. Once a new associate dean for academic programs has been selected, Suzie Allard will return to her position as associate dean for research, and Carol Tenopir will return to her SIS faculty position.
Diana Hall, administrative services assistant to the CCI Associate Dean for Academic Programs, has retired after 26 years of distinguished service to the University of Tennessee. During her time in the CCI Associate Dean’s office, she assisted the college’s graduate students from recruitment to graduation. “Many thanks to Diana for her great work on behalf of CCI and our graduate students,” said CCI Dean Mike Wirth. “She will be greatly missed, and we wish Diana all the best in her retirement!”
Amanda Pruitt joined CCI as an information specialist on February 4 after serving as an assistant media relations director with the UT Athletics Department. She received her bachelor’s in Print Journalism from Harding University and her Master’s in Sports Management from the University of Tennessee. She has worked for UT since 2009. Prior to coming to UT, Pruitt worked at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, the Harding University Sports Information Office and D2Football.com. She is experienced in social media, publication design, photography, video, broadcasting and content creation. “We are excited to welcome Amanda to the CCI team and look forward to taking advantage of her broad ranging communication skills to tell the stories of CCI students, faculty, alumni and staff,” said Dean Mike Wirth.
